Lard Butt LLC Launches Company and Online Store for Below-Average Athletes and Weekend Warriors
SEATTLE, WA - March 4, 2009 - Lard Butt LLC, an apparel and lifestyle company for below-average athletes, providing ‘athletic apparel for the rest of us,' today announced the launch of its new Web site and online store, available at www.lardbutt.com. In addition to an array of community features, Lardbutt.com offers an initial selection of merchandise featuring Lard Butt Athletics, Lard Butt Skiing, Lard Butt Snowboarding, and Lard Butt Golf, with additional Lard Butt-branded sports and merchandise to be introduced throughout 2009. Sizes range from small to XXXL, but all are XXXXL in spirit.
In an era when overpaid professional athletes are making headlines for steroid use, fistfights, and pouting over $5 million per-year salaries, Lard Butt celebrates the legions of below-average athletes, weekend warriors, weakened warriors and others who don't take themselves quite so seriously.
GET CRACKING
Under the inspired company credo of ‘Get Cracking,' Lardbutt.com features community focused areas such as a regularly updated LardBlog discussion and news forum. Here, topics can range from off-the-wall news items, such as ‘Famous Athletes With Food Items as Part of Their Names' to solicited user stories about their own Lard Butt experiences, whether falling down for no reason on a golf course, getting kicked off a church softball team due to lack of productivity, or finishing a 5K run in two hours or more - all of which have occurred amongst Lard Butt's co-founders.
In addition to the LardBlog, the Lard Butt Photo Gallery enables users from across the nation and Canada to easily submit their photos for publication on the site, wearing their Lard Butt gear. The company plans to annually recognize one lucky community member as Lard Butt of the Year. Lard Butt is also exploring plans to stage a Lard Butt 1-kilometer run/walk.

Lard Butt is founded by a private group of average and below-average athletes who now live in Seattle, Portland, OR and various parts of Montana. Lard Butt partnered with the Seattle-based Web design company of Fuse IQ (www.fuseiq.com) to develop its new site.
