Baldy inspired many with his last blog entry about a great foul ball catch. It makes me want to share some of my great moments in sports. Some of you have heard of my 50 tacos challenge at a season ending baseball party. It still impresses me that I ate 50 tacos in one sitting. I haven't looked at a taco the same way since that feast!
BUT another story I must share just happened last weekend. I was in BUTTE AMERICA for work. A co-worker of mine was there, and he is a nine time men's open racquetball champion. I had heard rumors of how great he was, and that he had even beaten some pretty good athletes using his shoe instead of a racquet. Well, being the Lard Butt that I am, I had to take on this challenge. Racquet VS Shoe.....in a winner takes all death match. I had not played racquetball in about 10 years, but felt pretty good about my endurance and ability to at least hit the ball and make a game of it. Come on, this is a shoe he is using--how well could he hit the ball?
The final score was 15-3, 15-8. I LOST BOTH MATCHES! The only thing I came away with after the beat down was a bruised ego and a signed racquetball that I will keep displayed in my office for the next few years.
