Just like the smell of a forgotten pasta dish in the back of the refrigerator, the US economy seems to get worse every day. As we all have seen, some people are having their hours cut back at work, while other people are getting laid off. With this in mind, most folks are cutting back on spending.
Luckily for the Lard Butt Nation, March offers cheap entertainment: the NCAA basketball tournament. Instead of spending money at movie theaters or fancy restaurants, make reservations to sit on your couch and watch all the excitement of college hoops. Already this month we have seen many top teams fall in their conference tournaments (North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Connecticut), plus we saw Syracuse play a 6 overtime game followed by another overtime game the next night.
When a television news anchor compares the current economic situation to The Great Depression, remind yourself that the only great depression you need to worry about this month is the one you will leave on the couch!
(...and just imagine how comfortable you would be watching college hoops while reclining on the sofa in the cozy, affordable Lard Butt Athletic Dept. hoodie.)
Below is a recipe for pizza that costs only a few dollars and is simple to prepare (and even features a few vegetables). Serve this meal with beer and the NCAA tournament.
